News Network (Correspondence Jing Zhenzhen, Liu Ye) Recently, the General Office of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee issued the third batch of national Ten Thousand Talents Program selection list, among which 189 young top-notch talents were selected. Prof. Chen Baifeng, vice president of the Law School of our school was one of them. This is the first time that young teachers of our school have won this honor and achieved a breakthrough in the “Top Young Talent” program of the “Ten Thousand Talents” program of our school. And this was another time our teacher again was selected in Ten Thousand Talents Program following Professors Yang Canming, Wang Yuchen, and Yao.
“Ten thousand Talents Program”, known as “National Special Support Program for High-level Talents and the National Special Support Plan, is a national major talented person project.The program covers a wide area, involves many departments, and has a long implementation cycle. The overall goal is to adopt a plan and focus on the selection of outstanding talents, leading talents and youth top-notch talents in the field of natural sciences, engineering technology, philosophy and social sciences and higher education in about 10 years from 2012. It will form the domestic high-level development system of innovative and entrepreneurial talents that complements and integrates with overseas high-level talents introduction plans (“Thousand Talents Program”), and accelerates the fostering of a number of high-level innovation and entrepreneurial talents that provide strong support for the construction of innovative countries. Youth top-notch talents are selected after one and a half years by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Human Resources, Social Security, and other experts, the result of which was got through the communication review, meeting review, consultation and advisory group monitoring, publicity and other rigorous procedures.
Prof. Chen Bofeng holds a Bachelor of Law (2002.6) and a Master of Law (2005.6) of our university, a Doctor of Sociology in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (2008.6), a Postdoctoral Doctoral of Southwest University of Political Science and Law (2012.6-2016.12). And he is a Visiting Scholar of the School of Law of Hong Kong University (2011.6-7)and School of Law, Columbia University (2012.9-2013.9). He has got lots of titles: Assistant Professor (2005), Lecturer (2007), Associate Professor (2009), Professor (2012), Wenlan Young Scholar (2013), Director of Grassroots Rule of Law Institute (2014), Young Changjiang Scholar of Ministry of Education (2016) Deputy Dean of Law School (2017). His main research areas are jurisprudence, sociology of law, and rural sociology. He teaches courses in jurisprudence, sociology of law, law and rural governance, law in film and other courses.
Prof. Chen Baifeng published five academic monographs, including The Rule of Law on Media Supervision, Countryside Lakes, Countryside Justice,Violence and Order, The Life and Value World of farmers, and published more than 100 papers in magazines such as Research on Law, Sociological Studies,Political Studies. and Chinese Social Sciences, among which more than 80 papers were in CSSCI，one in SSCI and more than 20 papers were reproduced in Chinese Social Science Digest, Journal of Liberal Arts Academic Journal Digest, and Renmin University Copy Materials .Prof. Chen Baifeng published five academic monographs, including The Rule of Law on Media Supervision, Countryside Lakes, Countryside Justice, Violence and Order, The Life of Farmers, and Their Value World, and Research on Law, Sociological Studies, and Political Studies. He was selected as the Ministry of Education Youth Changjiang Scholar (2016), New Century Excellent Talent Support Program (2012), Hubei Young Talent Development Program (2014), and won the Eighth National Top Ten Young Scholars Award (2017), and he won the title of outstanding contributions to young and middle-aged experts in Hubei province and ,the top ten young and middle-aged jurists the fourth session of Hubei Province, the top ten young and middle-aged jurists inHubei Province (2014). He won the Ministry of Education Award for outstanding achievements in scientific research (2012), third prize in outstanding achievements in Hubei social sciences (2013), Chinese Law Outstanding Achievements Third Prize (2018), Third Prize for Dong Biwu Youth Law Outstanding Achievements (2013), First Prize (2017) and Third Prize (2011) for Social Science Outstanding Achievements.
