Three Prizes Earned in the 8th Qian Duan-sheng Award for Legal Research Achievement

News Network (byMa Gao-ang) On May 12, the 8th Qian Duan-sheng Award for Legal Research Achievement initiated by its foundation council came to the final stage of award announcement. Three professors from ZUEL claimed prizes respectively. Above all, professor Wu Han-dong’s monograph Intellectual Property Essentials: Institution and Knowledge Innovation received the one of the only two first prizes within the country. The biennial Qian Duan-sheng Award for Legal Research Achievement is a national award for legal research established by China University of Political Science and Law in memory of Dr. Qian Duan-sheng1 (1900-1990) for his remarkable contribution in advancing the law studies in China. Aiming at promoting the development of law studies and the establishment of rule of law in China, it has become one of the most important awards in Chinese law academia.

As a popular award among legal researchers and professionals, the 8th Qian Duan-sheng Award for Legal Research Achievement was opened for applications on July 25, 2020. During the application process, which lasted 2 months, the Award Committee Office has received 318 applications. Through the careful deliberation by the Higher Education Center of the People’s Republic of China and the Award Committee42 nominees were granted the Award, among whom 2 won the first prize, 8 claimed the second, 22 received the third, and 10 were presented the nomination prize. ZUEL has recommended 14 excellent academic achievements, including 5 monographs and 9 dissertations. Among all the universities of politic science and law in China, ZUEL stood out with 3 prizes gained.
