The Eleventh Joint Management Committee Meeting of Sino-Korean Undergraduate Cooperative Educational Program

The eleventh Joint Management Committee Meeting of the Sino-Korean Undergraduate Cooperative Educational Program was held at our university on the afternoon of May 16. Attending the meeting were President Zhang Jiguo of Dongseo University, Vice President Nan Haozhu, Director of International Affairs Han Jinghao, along with Zhu Fangwei, President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Liu Renshan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President. Heads from relevant departments and colleges were also present. And the meeting was presided over by Liu Renshan.

President Zhu Fangwei, on behalf of ZUEL, extended a warm welcome to President Zhang Jiguo and his delegation and expressed sincere gratitude for Dongseo University’s long-standing support. He fully acknowledged the significant role Dongseo University has played in regional education cooperation in Asia over the years and spoke highly of the achievements made by both universities in talent cultivation, academic exchanges, and joint research. He then introduced the progress of the university’s recent comprehensive reforms and expressed eager anticipation for deeper cooperation between the two universities in the future.

President Zhang Jiguo affectionately reviewed the deep friendship formed during the seventeen-year cooperation between the Chinese and Korean universities, expressed his sincere gratitude for the strong support received by our university, and highlighted his pride in the talent cultivation outcomes of the cooperative education program. He introduced the latest explorations of Dongseo University in the integration of artificial intelligence and curriculum, as well as its plans and measures for the integrated development of disciplines.

Liu Renshan pointed out that Dongseo University’s exploration in the fields of cultural digital content and artificial intelligence has provided new ideas for the development of the China-Korea Institute of New Media. He emphasized that both sides should further strengthen faculty construction and improve teaching conditions to elevate the cooperative education to a higher level.

Zhao Boya, the deputy dean of the China-Korea Institute of New Media (chief of administrative work), delivered a work report. The two sides had an in-depth discussion on matters such as sending senior faculty from Dongseo University to work at the college and reached a consensus.

During this meeting, both sides reached a consensus on multiple issues. President Zhu Fangwei expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to increase their cooperation efforts, make sustained investments in faculty, infrastructure, and curriculum development, and strive to build and develop the China-Korea Institute of New Media effectively. He also called for efforts to enhance the level of cooperative education programs and cultivate a greater number of outstanding talents.
