Recently, Italian Teacher Ivan of Law School of ZUEL established a website to translate and introduce documents, articles of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the stories of the discussion with the teachers and students about the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which attracted much attention and reported by several media including “People’s Daily”, People’s Daily Online, Guangming Online and CNR News.

In the afternoon of November 7th, in the meeting room of School of Marxism of ZUEL, dozens of teachers and students communicated with Italian Doctor Ivan Cardillo asking questions such as“why did you establish a personal website to translate and introduce the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China” and “how do you think the rule of law system with Chinese Characteristics as a jurist”.
On the opening day of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party, Ivan established a personal website named “dirittocinese” (www.dirittocinese.com) in Italian. In the following two days, he translated the report of the Xinhua News Agency “Xi Jinping said that the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is a guide to action for all our members and all the Chinese people as we strive to achieve national rejuvenation”, “Resolution of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on the ‘Revised Constitution of the Communist Party of China’” and so on, and posted them on his new personal website the first time.
“Many westerners also pay close attention to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party, but they can only get to know it through news reports. However, I think it is not enough, especially for scholars. One needs to learn about the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party, China andthe system of socialism with Chinese characteristics through the first-hand materials. I establish the personal website to provide the western scholars with more comprehensive and accurate materials,” said Ivan. In the process of translation, Ivan found that there were many terms in the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party which would confuse the readers if literal translated. So, he looked into Chinese culture, history and political background to provide annotations for the terms.
