News Network (Correspondent Bai Xiaoying, Qu Daizhou and Li Jianhua, Photographer Xu Zhichi and so on) On October 13th and 14th “the 5th China Investments Annual Conference and the Seminar of Discipline Construction of Investments” was held in ZUEL, which was hosted by Committee of Discipline Construction of the Investment Association of China and Professional Committee of Investments of China, undertook by School of Finance of ZUEL and Research Center of Investments of China of ZUEL and co-hosted by Central University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Dongbei University of Finance & Economics, University of International Business and Economics, Higher Education Press and Shanghai Zeji Education and Training Limited. The conference was attended by the experts, scholars and graduate students from more than 60famous universities, including Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Dongbei University of Finance & Economics, and Wuhan University of Technology and representatives of Investment Association of China, Higher Education Press, China Machine Press and Peking University Press. More than 230 delegates were presented at the conference, which set a new record of the conference, and discussed and communicated on the topic of the annual conference “Problems in Investments against the background of structural transformation”. Professor Tang Wenjin from School of Finance presided the opening ceremony of the conference and gave the keynote speech of the first stage.

This annual conference had invited 8 experts to deliver keynote speeches. The keynote speeches of the first stage were delivered by 3 experts including Mr. Yang Qingwei, President of the Investment Association of China and the former Vice Manager of China Investment Corporation, Professor Wang Yaoqi, Vice President of the Investment Association of China, President of Committee of Discipline Construction of the Investment Association of China (Professional Committee of Investments of China) and President of Central University of Finance and Economics, and Professor Zhang Zhonghua from School of Finance of ZUEL, Honorary President of Committee of Discipline Construction of the Investment Association of China (Professional Committee of Investments of China). They paid attention to the teaching, cultivation of talents and discipline construction and development of Investments in the discussion.
The group discussion of the conference started in the afternoon of October 14th. It was learned that, this year, there were 106 academic theses with 64 theses of the teachers and 42 theses of the students and 73 of them, concerning 6 topics including the problems of development and investment in real estate, the problems of development and investment in capital market, innovation of scientific and technological finance and transformation and upgrading of economic structure, new type of construction of urbanization and entrepreneurship and venture investment and discipline construction of investments, were chosen for further discussion after approved by the academic review group with anonymous appraisals. In the seminar, the experts discussed and exchanged ideas about the theses with good academic atmosphere, providing multiple and new solutions and perspectives for the hot issues of investments including the functions of regional economic development on industrial restructuring against the background of “the new normal”.
Reviewed by the experts of the council, 33 excellent theses were picked out in this annual conference, including 3 theses of first prize, 5 theses of second prize and 10 theses of third prize in teacher group and 3 theses of first prize, 5 theses of second prize and 7 theses of third prize in graduate student group. The prize presentation was presided by Li Jianhu, Deputy Dean of School of Finance of ZUEL.
“China Investments Annual Conference” is a national academic conference hosted by Committee of Discipline Construction of the Investment Association of China and Professional Committee of Investments of China to promote the professional development and overall discipline construction of Investments of China. The successful conference of this year, gained many academic theses on Investments from the excellent experts and scholars from universities all over the nation, which set a new record of quantity and quality of theses of the conference. As a milestone, the conference of this year not only provided a platform of communication for the experts of Investments, but also clarified the direction conformed to the development trend of the times and established solid foundation for the development and discipline construction of Investments in China.
