News Network (Reporter Cui Zhenzhen, Photographer Xu Zhichi, Yu Xiangyang and Liu Xiaotong ) On the morning of September 5th, the opening ceremonies for the graduate and undergraduate students of 2017 of our university were held respectively at Nanhu Campus and Shouyi Campus.
At 8 o’clock, the opening ceremony for the graduate students of 2017 and enrollment education convention was held at Art and Sports Center of Nanhu Campus. The ceremony was attended by Secretary of the Party Committee of our university Luan Yongyu, President Yang Canming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our university Qi Wenyuan, Chief Accountant Wang Jianhong, Vice Presidents Yao Li, Liu Renshan and Zou Jinwen, and directors of the related functional departments.
On 9:30 in the morning, the opening ceremony for the undergraduate students and mobilization meeting of the military training was held at the Grand Sports Ground of Shouyi Campus. Secretary of the Party Committee of our university Luan Yongyu presented the military training division with the flag and President Yang Canming gave a speech on the ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Dean of the School of Science of Naval University of Engineering, which was the troop of the trainers, Senior Colonel Yu Zijing, Division Commander of the military training division of our university and Deputy Brigade Commander of the First Brigade of the School of Science of Naval University of Engineering Colonel Chen Jinjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our university Qi Wenyuan, Chief Accountant Wang Jianhong, Vice Presidents Yao Li, Liu Renshan and Zou Jinwen, Assistant Principal Zou Bingguo and directors of the related functional departments. With more than 4000 freshmen attended, the ceremony was presided by Vice President Liu Renshan. More than 400 undergraduate freshmen at Nanhu Campus watched the live stream of the opening ceremony at Wenquan Lecture Hall.

Secretary Luan Yongyu Helped the Freshmen to Wear the School Badges
Yang Canming raised three expectations for the freshmen who had just stepped into the campus of our university. Firstly, he hoped that they could fully devote themselves to study and become people who would never stop moving forward. Secondly, he hoped that they could stay positive and become people who were always ready. Thirdly, he hoped that they could be pragmatic and become people who were efficient in their action. He pointed out that “only people who tried could make achievements and only people who kept moving forward could reach their destinations”. He hoped that the freshmen could have full and wonderful lives in our university.
On the opening ceremony, Luan Yongyu presented the military training division with the flag and the directors presented helped the freshmen to wear the school badges.

Senior Colonel Yu Zijing hoped the freshmen treasure the opportunity to learn to endure hardships and practice the motto of our university “Learned, Rational, Virtuous and Devoted”.

The representative of the faculty, Professor Wang Hua at the School of Accounting, the representatives of the enrolled students Junior Student Yan Lin of the School of Journalism and Culture Communication and Na Jia of the School of International Education, and the representative of the freshmen Zhang Chenhao of Finance gave speeches on the opening ceremony for the undergraduate students respectively.
