ZUEL President Zhu Fangwei Led Delegation to Macao

From March 27th to 29th, Zhu Fangwei, President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), led a delegation to visit Macao. The delegation included Hu Hainan, Director of the Campus Construction Department; Zheng Ying, Director of the Education Center for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan; Li Jun, Dean of the School of Law and Economics; and Jin Dawei, Dean of the School of Information Engineering.In what was a fruitful visit, ZUEL signed two major agreements with City University of Macau and conducted in-depth exchanges with the University of Macau and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR.These endeavors have effectively solidified research and educational links between ZUEL and Macao’s key institutional partners.

On the morning of March 27th,Zhu Fangwei and his delegation visited the Hengqin-Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Valley toobserve its constructionand operationon site.The delegation thenvisitedthe University of Macau forexchanges, where they held in-depth discussions with the UniversitysRector on topics includingacademic disciplinedevelopment, scientific research and innovation,andsocialservices, and exchanged views on future cooperation between the two institutions.Following the talks, the delegation toured theteaching facilities,studentdormitories, living facilitiesandotheramenitiesonthe University of Macau’s Hengqin Campus, drawing on itssound experiencein campus planning,construction and dailymanagement.In the afternoon, President Zhu Fangwei held talks withRector Jun Liu of City University of Macau. The two sidesconducted in-depth consultations on the vision and concrete paths for joint discipline development, talent cultivation and scientific research collaboration, and reached extensive consensus. In addition, the delegation held a cordial discussion with exchange students from City University of Macau studying at ZUEL. Subsequently, the delegation visited the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, where they reported on our university’s progress in serving regional development, deepening the integration of industry, academia and research, and advancing exchanges and cooperation with Macao in education. They also listened attentively to the Liaison Office’s guidance and recommendations regarding the direction and key priorities for deepening our university’s cooperation with Macao SAR.

March 28th marked the highlight of the cooperation with CityU Macau. At 9:00 a.m., the two universities formally signed two key documents: the Agreement on the Joint Establishment of an Interdisciplinary Research Center and the Agreement on Cooperative Education, laying a solid foundation for in-depth collaborationbetween the two sides in interdisciplinary research and joint talentcultivation.Following the signing, the delegation attended the forumon“Future Trends in Global Higher Education” at CityU Macau, discussing new paths for higher education development with experts and scholars. Later, they visited the Faculty of Computing of CityU Macato learn about its disciplinary development and talent cultivation models.In the afternoon, the delegation was invited to the 45th Anniversary Celebration and Honorary Doctorate Conferment Ceremony of CityU Macau.
