These two results are the “Ecological improvement on the Three Gorges Urban Agglomeration- ‘The Yichang Experiment’ ”, which was jointly conducted by the Collaborative Innovation Center of Hubei Province and the Yichang City; and the “Health-Risk Management System on Environmental Pollution in Urban Areas” , which was accomplished by the Environment and Health Research Center of our university.
In July 2018, the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Education asked the Education Department (Education Committee) of the provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, the education department of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and the various higher education institutions and related schools to select their major achievements in scientific and technological innovation since 1978. In the end, 1,025 scientific and technological innovation achievements from 318 institutions across the country were selected as The Major Achievements of Science and Technology Innovation of University in the 40 Years Since Reform and Opening up.
“The Yichang Experiment” of“Ecological improvement on the Three Gorges Urban Agglomeration” was jointly carried out by the Urban-and-Rural-Community-Social- Management Collaborative Innovation Center of Hubei Province and the Yichang City government, aiming to explore the micro-realization mechanism of the national strategy of the “Three Gorges Eco-economic Cooperation Zone”. The experiment adopts the model of “municipal leading, expert presiding, county and township main body, and social participation” to carry out four major themes of ecological protection, ecological industry, ecological finance and ecological citizen. The Co-creation Center set up a team of experts to sink the test site for 6 months. After completing the process with the participants of the “Yichang Experiment”, 29 documents were drafted and adopted (including 2 documents issued by the Yichang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government). ), to achieve the following management innovations: the establishment of comprehensive law enforcement agencies; the establishment of social organizations and industrial bases to incubate the ecological industrial chain; the establishment of natural education bases, ecological humanities schools and eco-cultivation certification centers to support the goal of ecological citizen cultivation; the establishment of ecological governance ventures The Foundation and the Eco-Industry Fund supported the incubation of the eco-industry; completed the first round of 17 NGOs in Yuan’ an; and launched the “Ecological Model Kids” education activities. In April 2018, During his tour to the Yangtze River, General Secretary Xi Jinping instructed that Ecological and environmental awareness should be cultivated among children. The Ecological Model Kids education activities carried out in Yichang is a good start which we shall preserve.
The “Health-Risk Management System on Environmental Pollution in Urban Areas” , which was accomplished by the Environment and Health Research Center of our university, successfully introduces “new engineering” technologies such as environmental Internet of Things, environmental monitoring big data (data banking data sharing mechanism), cloud storage and computing, and intelligent mobile interaction into the field of environmental health-risk management, using civil-grade environment and biosensors. Develop integrated fixed and mobile monitoring equipment for accurate collection of real-time environmental and human health data, then upload and store data to cloud servers using indoor and outdoor communication technologies, and improve based on urban environmental pollution characteristics, land use patterns, and population density distribution. The new technology of regional level health-risk assessment model is compiled into the server as the intelligent brain of the system. Finally, this set of space-time domain wisdom and multi-media environment health support for personalized setting is proposed for the needs of current urban government, enterprises and residents. The management system (EnvironMax®) is visualized and interactive on the web and mobile side with the help of geographic information technology and Android baseband. The achievement realizes the dynamic operation of big data system in the multi-media environment under the Internet of Things, the optimization of user-level multi-media health-risk assessment model, the real-time health navigation under the personal multi-media environment health-risk cloud computing, and the intelligent life assistant based on personal account ( Main sub-function modules such as early warning mechanism and safety monitoring of elderly falling have been applied to the health-risk management and repair of Changsha City's original chromium salt plant, the classification and evaluation of lake environmental risk in Wuhan, and the heavy metal pollution in Hong Lake water environment sediments. Significant eco-economic benefits have been generated in important projects such as evaluation of heavy-metal pollutants.
