News Network (Reporter Hu Tianhao) Recently, the Think Tank Development Report on Source for CTTI (2017), at the 2017 China Think Tank Governance Forum, was released by China Think Tank Research and Evaluation Center of Nankai University, together with Think Tank Research and Evaluation Center of Guangming Daily. The report mention our university many times cause we we have performed outstandingly in the development of universities' think tanks and we ranked among the top 50 in the Think Tank Index University, especially the Hubei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Social Management Of Urban and Rural Communities, which is ranked second in the University's think tank and ranked first in social policy field. This is another honor after the school won the first place in the national 211 university think tanks' total score in 2016.
In the report, outstanding achievements have been gained by our university's five centers：Legal Development and Judicial Reform Research Center, China Income Distribution Research Center,Intellectual Property Research Center,Hubei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Industrial Upgrade and Regional Finance, and Hubei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Urban and Rural Community Social Management. These centers were all selected into the Top100 university think tanks in comprehensive score and total resource efficiency score of MRPA assessment, and Top50 university think tanks in comprehensive score of MRPA assessment(2016-2017). In the field of economic and trade, Hubei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Industrial Upgrade and Regional Finance and China Income Distribution Research Center were selected into the top 30 think tank of MRPA assessment. Hubei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Urban and Rural Community Social Management was selected into the top 10 think tank of MRPA assessment in the field of social policy. Besides, Legal Development and Judicial Reform Research Center, and Intellectual Property Research Center were selected into the top 10 think tank of MRPA assessment in the field of law and public security.
The report focused on the sixth point: Zhongnan University of Economics and Law has a very outstanding performance, whose five centers have been selected as sources for CTTI:Legal Development and Judicial Reform Research Center, China Income Distribution Research Center,Intellectual Property Research Center,Hubei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Industrial Upgrade and Regional Finance, and Hubei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Urban and Rural Community Social Management. And it's written internal reports received positive national approval (2 passages), deputy national approval(11 passages). provincial and ministerial approval(26 passages), and deputy provincial and ministerial approval(6 passages) ， which have shown that the university’s think tank has played a significant role in decision-making and consultation.”
The report also pointed out that university think tanks, relying on the university's academic development and professional research platform, has an advantage in resources and made a great contribution to achievement production. Among them, the top universities think tanks are basically from Universities with higher scores in the University Think Tank Index, such as Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Beijing Normal University, Nankai University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, etc. In the supporting of a number of units and institutions in co-construction and collaboration, Hubei Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Urban and Rural Community Social Management has built a complete information platform for think tanks. It had participated in 41 national-level vertical projects, as well as 21 provincial and ministerial-level projects. Its annual total of the report was 22 and it has also received more than 40 provincial and ministerial-level awards. which provides excellent service in decision-making.
In terms of contribution to legal policies, the report specifically mentioned that The Research Center for the Development of Law and Judicial Reform at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law has relied on law, the first-level discipline, to achieve fruitful results in the field of law and public security. The university has not only constructed a 'data base for the research on the development strategy of China's rule of law', but also opened a journal Preface to the Rule of Law of Social Governance and insisted on the theme training of the lecture of rule of law in China. It, currently, has been established as a key research base of Humanities and Social Sciences in Hubei Province, a legal research base of the China Law Society, and the procuratorate applied theoretical research base of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
The Research Department of the Academy of Social Sciences will further strengthen the overall awareness and service awareness, take multiple measures, get support through services and build together through contributions, providing all-round services for the scientific research platform to innovate and serve the society, and promoting the construction of double first-rate disciplines.
